I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addiction Professional, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I received my Master's degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University, where I graduated with top honors. I have extensive experience in working with trauma and PTSD, developmental immaturity, addiction/compulsive behaviors, anxiety/depressive disorders, extreme grief, self-harm, mood disorders, relationship issues, parenting/co-parenting, family dynamics, and personal growth/life transitional challenges. I work with children and adults, ages 8 and older. I see individuals, couples, and families.
I am passionate about helping people heal from physical and physiological distress related to trauma. I facilitate Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) to help my clients heal from emotional pain, specifically regarding negative life experiences. I am trained in DBT skill implementation and incorperate mindfulness and interpersonal techniques, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation in my work with clients.
As a Certified Addiction Professional, I have extensive experience in providing drug and alcohol evaluations for people in need of reinstating their driver's license, returning to work, or for appropiate treatment referral's. I have worked directly with Intervention Project for Nurses (IPN), providing individual and group counseling to nurses who have self-reported to Florida's Board of Nursing or who diverted narcotics. I have been published by Florida's Nursing Association two times for my work with nurses in IPN.
I am competent in the use of interpersonal therapy, (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral, dialectal behavioral, and strengths-based techniques. I am passionate about providing quality mental health services so you feel comfortable to heal, improve, and change what you can through psychotherapy.
